ORG MIXTAPE PROJECT: REGGAE SELECTION ... [img:$uid]http://imageshack.us/a/img856/3064/300ya.jpg[/img:$uid]
Gregory Isaacs - If I Don't Have You This is a hit of the late Gregory Isaacs, Sly & Robbie are on the riddim section killing it as usual.
Al Campbell - Take A Ride Here's one of the legendary Studio One records, this riddim has been used numerous times.
Steel Pulse - Worth His Weight In Gold (Rally Round) I grew up listening to Steel Pulse, what a band! This is from their 4th album "True Democracy".
Black Uhuru - Utterance Black Uhuru's "Red" album is straight classic. Michael Rose's voice is butter, I love this record.
Marcia Griffiths - The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face This is a cover of the 1957 song that became a big hit for Roberta Flack in the early seventies.
Desmond Dekker - Fu Manchu This Beverley's Records 7" single was recorded by Desmond Dekker while on tour in London.
Sugar Minott - The People Got To Know This is from the "Ghetto-ology" album, my uncle used to play it over and over when I was a kid.
Dennis Brown - Revolution Released in 1983 on Sly & Robbie's Taxi label, I have a mint condition dubplate of this song.
Bob Marley & The Wailers - How Many Times Marley's pre-Island material is probably his best in my opinion, this tune is catchy and simple.
The Abyssinians - Satta Massagana The biggest Rasta anthem ever, satta massagana is Amharic for "give thanks and praises".
Enjoy! REGGAE SELECTION |

ROOTS!
Thanks, Kingofkings! Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
μηδὲν ὅλως σὺ λυποῦ
πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν
τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.” |
